fastag-annual-pass-will-become-expensive-from-april-1:commuters-to-pay-₹3,075-instead-of-₹3,000

Next month, from April 1, traveling on National Highways will become a bit more expensive. The Ministry of Road Transport has decided to increase FASTag annual pass prices by 2.5%. Now private vehicle owners will have to pay Rs 3,075 instead of Rs 3,000 for the annual pass. This pass allows car users to travel without stopping at 200 toll plazas across the country. Prices increased under annual revision
According to Road Transport Ministry officials, when the FASTag annual pass was introduced, the provision for annual review and change in prices was included in its notification. This increase is part of that annual revision process. The 2.5% increase has been made based on the same formula that is set for changing highway toll rates across the country. More than 52 lakh people are using this pass
The government launched this special annual pass from August 15, which has received a much better response than expected. So far, more than 52 lakh highway car users have joined this scheme. The biggest feature of this pass is that it can be recharged any number of times in a year and proves to be quite economical for travelers covering long distances. Opportunity to buy at old rate till March 31
If you frequently travel on highways and want to avoid this increase, you still have a chance. Officials said that users who recharge their pass or buy a new pass by March 31 will get it at the old rate of Rs 3,000. New rates will be updated in the system from the morning of April 1. Facility available at 200 toll plazas
This annual pass is currently valid at 200 major toll plazas across the country. It not only saves time but also eliminates the hassle of paying toll tax repeatedly. The government’s goal is to include more toll plazas under the scope of this pass in the coming time, to promote cashless economy and smooth travel.
