2 minor sisters allege molestation by neighbour in Katni:Family claims police initially turned them away

A case of alleged molestation of two minor sisters has come to light near Kelwara Hanuman Temple in the Kotwali police station area of Katni. The girls have accused their neighbour, identified as Shyam Tiwari, of entering their house and attempting to sexually assault them. According to the victims, both sisters were studying on the roof of their house when the accused allegedly entered the premises with wrong intentions and tried to molest the elder sister. Hearing the commotion, the younger sister woke up and tried to intervene. The accused allegedly attempted to misbehave with her as well. During the struggle, the girls’ clothes were torn. The accused reportedly fled after the sisters raised an alarm. The victims later reached Kotwali police station along with their mother and neighbours to lodge a complaint. However, the family alleged that instead of registering the complaint immediately, police personnel drove them away. The girls further alleged that the accused had earlier assaulted their mother as well. Responding to the allegations, CSP Neha Pachisia said the matter had come to her notice. She said statements of the victims would be recorded and appropriate action would be taken after investigation as per rules.
