An incident of illegal exhibition of wildlife remains has come to light at the Forsyth Lodge Resort, a well-known and expensive resort in the Madhai area of Satpura Tiger Reserve. During a search, the forest department team recovered cheetal antlers, porcupine quills, and snake skin from the resort. A case has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, on Wednesday. According to Vilas Dongre, Ranger of Bagda Buffer, STR, a raid was conducted on March 9 at this luxurious 40-acre resort. During the investigation, it was found that the resort management had displayed (exhibited) wildlife parts without permission to attract foreign and VIP tourists. These items were found: 4 cheetal antlers, 4 porcupine quills, 2 snake skins. He is being interrogated. The forest department is investigating how old these remains are and from which part of the forest they were brought. Officials have clarified that if the resort owner’s involvement is found in the investigation, they will also be made an accused.
