Vision 2047 for Indore focuses on Malwa Nimar:7 districts to be developed as economic zones based on their strengths

A plan has been made to develop a large economic zone by combining seven districts of Malwa-Nimar. Its aim is to bring new investments and increase employment opportunities in sectors like industry, IT, tourism, agro-processing, and renewable energy. The plan proposes to develop Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Shajapur, Khandwa, and Khargone as an economic network. Each district will be made a hub for different sectors according to its economic strength, so that balanced development can take place throughout the region. According to the plan, Indore will be made a center for IT and innovation. Ujjain will be developed for religious tourism and the medical device industry, while Dewas will be promoted as an industrial and logistics base. In Dhar, textile and solar energy projects, in Shajapur, food processing clusters, in Khandwa, energy projects, and in Khargone, cotton-based agro-textile industries are planned to be promoted. New economic corridors like the Indore-Pithampur-Dewas-Dhar Industrial Corridor, Ujjain-Omkareshwar Religious Circuit, and Khargone-Khandwa Agro-Textile Corridor will become the backbone of the region’s development. Additionally, major projects such as PM Mitra Textile Park, Medical Device Park, Mahakal Lok Phase-2, Indore-Nagpur Expressway, and Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project are also included in the plan. According to Divisional Commissioner Sudam Khade, under Vision-2047, the regional GDP is targeted to be increased from approximately 10.5 lakh crore to over 30 lakh crore.
