Groom’s mother suffered a heart attack during the Mamera ceremony in Sarangi, Jhabua, on Thursday afternoon and passed away shortly afterwards. The deceased was identified as Gayatri Patidar. Her last rites were performed the same evening. Her son Golu had married on Wednesday, 25 February, and the wedding procession had returned with the bride from Barvet village. A reception was scheduled for Thursday. After the morning feast, the Mayra ceremony was to be held in the afternoon. At that time, members of Gayatri’s maternal family arrived for the Mamera ritual. Following tradition, she stepped forward to welcome them. She embraced her nephew and became emotional. Gayatri suffered from low blood pressure and had forgotten to take her medication amid the wedding preparations. Excessive crying and mental stress caused her blood pressure to drop suddenly, leading to a fatal heart attack. BP medication course was ongoing She had a heart attack due to a sudden drop in blood pressure. Screams and cries suddenly erupted in the joyous wedding atmosphere. Gayatri Patidar died within a short time. According to family members, Gayatri Devi was on a course of BP medications, but forgot to take medicine due to wedding preparations. Her BP dropped due to excessive crying in memory of her brother and mental stress, which led to a heart attack. Declared dead on reaching hospital When her condition suddenly deteriorated, family members took Gayatri to the hospital. However, doctors declared her dead after examination. The ceremonial clothes and chunri brought from her maternal side had to be draped on her funeral bier.
