A samosa seller was killed and his wife seriously injured after unidentified attackers assaulted them with a cutter in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district on Wednesday night. According to police, he was standing outside his house at night when three to four men approached him and attacked him with a cutter. Hearing the commotion, his wife Shashi alias Prembai Chaurasia came out to intervene. The attackers assaulted her as well, leaving both seriously injured. Local residents gathered at the spot, prompting the attackers to flee. The injured couple were taken to Bundelkhand Medical College (BMC) by ambulance. Chandralesh Chaurasia died during treatment, while his wife remains admitted and is undergoing treatment. Son alleges involvement of known persons, motive unclear The couple’s son, Raja Chaurasia, said he was closing the family’s samosa shop when the attack took place. He said he saw three to four men assault his father with a cutter. “I started screaming in panic, but they did not stop and continued beating him,” Raja said. He alleged that Shailesh Chaurasia and his associates were among the attackers, but said the family had no known dispute with them and the motive remains unclear.
