2 youths gangrape ‘drunk’ woman at hotel after party invite:1 in custody, another flees after attacking her

A case of gangrape involving a young woman has come to light in Chhindwara. The incident took place late on Monday night. Police have arrested one accused, while another is still on the run. According to the young woman, two youths took her to the Amber Hotel near Alka Talkies, saying they were going to attend a party. She alleged that the accused made her drink beer at the hotel. After she became intoxicated, both of them raped her one after the other. Kotwali police station has registered the case and started further investigation. Efforts are on to trace and arrest the second accused. Acquaintance got a hint, took the young woman to the police station When an acquaintance of the young woman came to know about the incident, she reached the hotel. She took the young woman with her to Kotwali police station. At that time, the young woman was heavily intoxicated, due to which the police could not record her statement. She was admitted to the district hospital for primary treatment. Case registered on Tuesday After a medical examination and preliminary investigation on Tuesday, the police registered a case. In this matter, a case has been registered against Durgesh Harode and Atul Ghorase. According to Kotwali Inspector Ashish Kumar, the girl and the two accused had a prior acquaintance. Based on this, the girl had gone with them for a party. Police say that the accused took advantage of the situation and committed the crime. Currently, the police are searching for the absconding accused, and a detailed investigation of the case is underway.
