A case involving two sisters accused of trafficking young women, forcing them into sexual exploitation and pressuring them for religious conversion has come to light in Bhopal. Police arrested the sisters, Amreen and Afreen, along with one associate, while three other accused remain absconding. According to police, the sisters allegedly targeted women from poor families, lured them with promises of jobs and a better lifestyle, and later exploited them. They had moved from Abbas Nagar to a house in Sagar Royal Villa near Ashima Mall. Complaints by two women exposed the case The case came to light after two women, aged 21 and 32, reached Bag Sewania police station on Sunday night and filed separate complaints. One woman is from Bhopal and the other from Mungeli district in Chhattisgarh. They had met each other through Instagram chat and later realised they were victims of the same group. Based on their complaints, police registered a case and arrested Amreen, Afreen and Chandan Yadav on Monday. Police are searching for three other accused — Bilal, Chanu and Yasir. Victims allegedly lured with jobs and lifestyle promises Police said the sisters allegedly approached women from poor backgrounds and offered them work as domestic helpers. They were promised a monthly salary of Rs 10,000 along with free food, outings and other facilities. According to the FIR, the sisters later took the women to parties and introduced them to wealthy men. The victims alleged they were forced to have sexual relations with these men. Victims forced to consume alcohol and drugs The victims told police they were taken to Gujarat and Mumbai by the accused. There, they were forced to meet unknown men and were pressured to consume alcohol and drugs, including MD. Police said Chandan Yadav lived with the two sisters at Sagar Royal Villa and was actively involved in the activities. Allegations of rape and forced religious conversion One of the victims alleged that Chandan Yadav raped her and threatened to kill her if she informed anyone. She told police that he pressured her to convert to Islam and promised to arrange a good marriage after conversion. The victim said she came under his influence and converted. She also alleged that she was forced to wear a burqa and offer namaz. The second victim from Chhattisgarh alleged that she was taken to Ahmedabad, where Yasir raped her. She also accused Bilal and Chanu of raping her on different occasions. Police said the victims were threatened with defamation and death if they spoke about the incidents. Suspicious WhatsApp groups and digital evidence found Police have seized the mobile phones of the accused for forensic examination. Several suspicious WhatsApp groups and photographs of young women were found in Amreen’s phone. Investigators said preliminary findings suggest the accused may be linked to an organised trafficking and prostitution network. Police are analysing digital evidence to identify other victims and accused persons. Police search underway for absconding accused Police said efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accused. Officials are also investigating financial transactions and possible links with other individuals. Police officials said further action will be taken based on evidence and statements recorded during the investigation.
