Three young students from Ujjain, known as the city of Mahakal, have achieved remarkable success in micro art, bringing pride to their city. By engraving intricate images of Hindu deities on tiny objects such as a lentil, a cardamom pod and a 5-cm conch, the students have secured entries in various world record books. All three study at a private fine arts college in the city. Lord Gautam Buddha Carved on Cardamom Nineteen-year-old Apeksha Gokhru, a first-year fine arts student, painted a highly detailed image of Gautama Buddha on a small cardamom using poster colours. The artwork, completed this month, has been selected in the micro art category of a worldwide record book, and she has received confirmation of her selection. Ashtavinayak on 5 cm conch shell Twenty-year-old Rashi Nigam created the Ashtavinayak form of Ganesha on a tiny 5-cm conch using acrylic colours. Notably, she completed the piece in just 30 minutes. Her work was recognised in the “smallest figure” category. Her name has been recorded in multiple record registries, including Worldwide Book, International Book of Records, India Book of Records and Unique Book of Records. She received confirmation by email along with a certificate and medal, crediting her success to her teachers and family. Jagannath Trinity on Masoor Dal The third student, Bhumi Kasera, engraved miniature figures of Lord Jagannath, Subhadra and Balram on three separate lentil grains. Completed in about 10 minutes, these detailed works earned her a place in the Worldwide Book of Records. The achievement has created a sense of joy among their families and teachers, while the city itself feels proud. Their success in micro art is inspiring other young people to explore the field.
