6th-day-of-assembly-budget-session:hemant-katare-may-break-silence-on-resignation-as-deputy-lop

On the sixth day of the ongoing Madhya Pradesh Assembly session, a discussion on the State Budget 2026–27 is scheduled in the House. All eyes are on Congress leader Hemant Katare, who recently stepped down as Deputy Leader of Opposition and may speak publicly today about his resignation. Katare resigned from the post on February 19 and has neither appeared in public nor issued any statement since then. He is expected to clarify his position if he attends the Assembly today. Key issues raised during Budget Session Several issues have been discussed during the ongoing budget session. Congress MLA Abhijeet Shah raised the issue of changing the name of VB-G RAM G in the Assembly. During Question Hour, MLA Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat made a light remark, saying that Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya looked different and that the atmosphere in the House also seemed changed. Responding humorously, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said there was no sign of anyone’s downfall. He added that with the Holi festival approaching, everyone should stay happy and maintain sweetness and smiles in relationships. Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar also joined the light exchange, mentioning that a “Fools’ Conference” is held in Indore during Holi and asking Shekhawat about his role in it. Shekhawat replied jokingly that it is actually a “Bajarbattu Conference,” where Vijayvargiya appears in a new look every year and does not give anyone else a chance to play that role. The session continues with budget discussions and political developments being closely watched.
