Union Minister Dr Virendra Kumar Khatik visited the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Hostel in Prithvipur, Niwari, on Sunday. During his visit, he inspected the hostel arrangements and checked the food being prepared in the mess. At the time of the inspection, rotis were being made for the girls. The minister examined the food and found that the rotis were undercooked and not properly baked. He spoke to the woman cooking the meal and told her that the rotis were slightly raw and should be cooked properly. He asked her to treat the girls like her own daughters and serve them good food. During the inspection, Dr. Khatik interacted with the girl students residing in the hostel. He inquired about the electricity system, drinking water, condition of beds, and security arrangements. The students shared information about their studies, daily routine, and future plans. Students said – mess is small, no playground During this, student Deepika Kushwaha said that when the minister came, he asked about the food arrangements. He also asked what was lacking. We told him that the mess is small, please get it enlarged. He assured us that next time he would eat with us. Meanwhile, student Rachna Kushwaha said that 100 students live in the hostel. She told the Minister about her demands. There is a lack of a playground. He assured that he would talk to the Collector and fulfill the demands. 100 girl students from 9th to 12th grade in the hostel It should be noted that 100 girl students from 9th to 12th standard live in the hostel. The warden is Gomati Kori. Currently, the minister has given instructions. No action has been taken. No complaint was received before this. During the inspection, other arrangements of the hostel were also observed. During this time, Prithvipur SDM Ashok Sen, Prithvipur Police Station In-charge Jitendra Gurjar, and the hostel warden were present. They instructed the concerned staff to take necessary precautions and ensure the quality of food. However, no action has been taken against anyone yet.
