‘india’s-tariffs-cut-to-10%-from-18%’:reports-says-citing-white-house-officials-on-us-top-court’s-striking-down-of-‘trump-tariffs’

Citing White House clarification on the US Supreme Court’s striking down of ‘Trump Tariffs’, CNBC says the US administration has cut tariffs on India to 10% from 18%. Earlier, within just 3 hours of the US Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the tariff, Donald Trump announced the imposition of a 10% global tariff on the world. He said that an executive order will be signed, under which this global tariff of 10% will be imposed. He claimed that this tariff will be on top of the baseline tariff already being imposed. Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court struck down President Donald Trump’s global tariffs, calling them illegal. The Supreme Court, while ruling by a majority of 6-3, said that under the Constitution, only Parliament has the power to impose taxes and tariffs, not the President. Trump criticised it, saying, “It’s very frustrating. I am ashamed of some of the judges of the court. They are a disgrace to the country; they don’t dare to do the right thing for our country.” On the trade deal with India, Trump said that there will be no change in this deal. PM Modi is a good friend of mine.
