On Thursday at around 12 pm in Narmadapuram district, Madhya Pradesh, a speeding car struck 8-year-old Shivnya Rawat while she was crossing the road. The impact lifted her approximately five feet into the air, after which she was dragged 15–20 feet along the road. The driver fled immediately. The accident occurred in Kheda under the jurisdiction of Itarsi police station. Severely injured, Shivnya was immediately taken by her family to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Hospital in Itarsi. Doctors referred her to Narmadapuram District Hospital due to her critical condition. The girl was referred to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal As Shivnya crossed the road, the speeding car hit her forcefully. Considering the seriousness of her injuries, she was later referred from Narmadapuram District Hospital to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. Shivnya sustained severe injuries to her head, face, and chest, and is also experiencing difficulty breathing. Treatment is ongoing under close medical supervision. Shivnya’s father, Raju Rawat of Kheda, said the family works as laborers. “Suddenly, a car struck my daughter, leaving our family in deep shock. The driver ran her over mercilessly and did not stop. We currently have no clear information about the vehicle, but CCTV footage is being examined to trace it,” he said. Police searching for car driver CCTV footage shows the girl being lifted into the air and dragged nearly ten feet along the road. Itarsi police are actively searching for the driver. Station in-charge KN Rajak stated that the girl’s condition is critical and described the impact as extremely severe. The police team is investigating using CCTV footage to identify both the driver and the vehicle and aims to apprehend the accused soon.
