The body of a young woman found on Sunday afternoon in Simaria-Raingwan village, about 10 kilometres from Jabalpur headquarters, remains unidentified. In an effort to establish her identity, Jabalpur police have turned to AI technology. According to police officials, the woman’s face had been brutally crushed, making visual identification impossible. No identity card, mobile phone, or personal belongings were found at the scene. The victim had mehendi on her hands and was dressed in new clothes, suggesting she may have attended or been preparing for a recent event. Blood stained body spotted in field The deceased, believed to be around 18 years old, had the names “Ishu-Tanu” written in mehendi on her left hand. Police are using this clue to trace her identity and locate her family, but no breakthrough has been made so far. On Sunday morning, villagers passing through the field noticed a blood-stained body lying on the ground. When they went closer, they realized it was the body of a young woman and immediately alerted the police. The spot falls under the jurisdiction of both Madhotal and Patan police stations. Acting on the information, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Suryakant Sharma, along with teams from both stations, reached the scene and launched an investigation. After the post-mortem examination, the body was preserved in the mortuary of the medical college. Police officials said they checked records across all police stations in the district but found no missing person report matching her description. The Jabalpur police have now contacted neighbouring districts, including Damoh, Katni, Narsinghpur and Mandla, and intensified efforts to identify the victim. ASP Sharma told Dainik Bhaskar that the woman had severe injuries to her face and head, and the murder is believed to have taken place within the past 24 hours. She was wearing a grey lehenga and chunni, and a pair of white slippers was recovered nearby. He added that families of missing persons from various areas have visited to identify the body, but no confirmation has been made so far. The victim was wearing bracelets on both hands, and police suspect she may have come to Jabalpur to attend a wedding ceremony. Age 16 to 18, height about 5 feet, fair complexion The girl’s entire face has been disfigured due to being murdered by stoning her head. In such a situation, her identity is not being established. Jabalpur police, with the help of AI, reconstructed the girl’s face and then posted it on social media for her identification. According to the police, the girl’s age could be between 16 and 18 years. Her height is about 5 feet and she has a fair complexion. Henna is applied on both her hands. Police may perform the last rites today While Jabalpur police are continuously engaged in identifying the girl, the responsibility of preserving her body also lies with the police. After the post-mortem, the girl’s body has been kept in the medical college’s mortuary. The police will perform the last rites on Wednesday. The place where the young woman’s body was found is a rural area. Police are also scanning nearby CCTV cameras. The ASP says that this murder will be solved soon.
