Truck runs over former sarpanch, drags him for 50 metres:Body trapped in rear tyre on Satna-Chitrakoot state highway; locals chase and stop vehicle

On Monday, a speeding truck crushed a former sarpanch on the Satna-Chitrakoot State Highway. He got stuck in the rear tire of the truck and was dragged for about 50 meters. He died on the spot in the accident. After this, the driver abandoned the truck and fled the scene. The incident occurred around 11 AM near Royani Mod, close to Kothi. The truck (MP 53 HA 2058) was going from Chitrakoot to Satna. The deceased in the accident, Anoop Singh (50), was a resident of Mankahari. He had been the sarpanch of this village. He was walking home after getting a shave from a salon. The accident happened during this time.
