A tragic accident in Damoh district claimed the lives of three bike riders after they fell from a bridge into a 30-foot-deep ravine late at night. All three died on the spot. The victims were among five youths travelling on two motorcycles from Sagar district to attend a wedding in Samanpur village of Damoh. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Tendukheda Police Station. According to reports, the accident took place around 11 PM. The bridge was reportedly in a dilapidated condition, and due to poor visibility in the dark, the riders failed to notice the damaged stretch and plunged straight into the ravine. Two other youths travelling on a separate bike behind them survived the accident. The survivors told police that they had lost their way and had mistakenly headed towards Jhapan. The deceased have been identified as Ajay Ghosi (21), Amit Kurmi (21), and Pawan Kurmi (22), all residents of Chhirari village under the Rahli police station area in Sagar district. The two survivors have been identified as Bhagirath Kurmi and Sumit Kurmi, who were riding behind and escaped unharmed. Rahli MLA expresses grief Former minister and Rahli MLA Gopal Bhargava expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that three youths from Chhirari village in his assembly constituency lost their lives in the tragic accident. He added that he stands with the bereaved families during this difficult time. Bodies sent for post-mortem After the accident, the survivors informed police with the help of local villagers. Police teams rushed to the scene and took the injured youths, who were covered in blood, to the Tendukheda Health Centre, where doctors declared them dead. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, which will be conducted in the presence of family members.
