Pankaj Gharu, a BJP leader who verbally abused a judge in Dewas, was arrested by police on Wednesday. The district administration team also demolished the accused’s poultry farm built on government land, along with other illegal encroachments near his house. Two of his accomplices remain at large. The case stems from an FIR lodged at Nahar Darwaza police station by District and Additional Sessions Judge Prasann Bahrawat. The judge stated that Gharu, along with Bhim Gharu and another individual, had verbally abused him over a car parked in Jayshri Nagar, Dewas. Judge shouted at, car gate blocked Judge Bahrawat told police that he resides in Greens Colony, Dewas. On Tuesday, while heading to court in his car, he encountered Pankaj Gharu and two others who had parked a Scorpio in the middle of the road in Jayshri Nagar. When the judge asked them to move the vehicle, the accused allegedly misbehaved with him. As the judge tried to take a photo of the parked Scorpio for administrative records, the accused reportedly prevented him from doing so, raising their voices. When the judge attempted to leave in his car, the trio blocked his vehicle’s gate. A video capturing the entire incident has surfaced. Illegal constructions demolished
On Wednesday, the administration demolished the illegal structures built by Pankaj Gharu, including the poultry farm on government land. Search for remaining two suspects continues
Tehsildar Sapna Sharma stated that Gharu had constructed a poultry farm and other illegal structures on government land. Despite multiple notices, the encroachments were not removed. Nahar Darwaza Station House Officer Amit Solanki confirmed that one accused has been arrested while the search for the others is ongoing. No lawyer to represent accused
Ashok Verma, president of the District Bar Association, said that no lawyer would represent the accused. A formal notice has been issued to all association members informing them of this decision.
