A first-year MBBS student, Roshni from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, died under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday morning. Roshni had taken admission in MBBS first year at Gandhi Medical College just 4 months ago in October 2025. She was a day scholar and was living in a PG in the Kohefiza police station area. According to initial information, when she did not come out of her room at the time of going to college in the morning, fellow students suspected something was wrong. Door broken when no response received According to fellow students, when there was no response despite calling Roshni multiple times and making phone calls, the PG guard was informed. After this, first the room door and then the bathroom door were broken, where Roshni was found dead. Suspicious bottle found nearby Students reported that an empty acid bottle was also found near Roshni, which made the situation seem more serious. The college management was immediately informed. Roshni was taken to Hamidia Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Department around 8:30 AM. The doctors on duty declared her dead after examination. Took MBBS admission four months ago Roshni had taken admission in MBBS first year at Gandhi Medical College in October 2025. She was a resident of Alirajpur. Fellow students said that she had recently returned from home just last week. She is described as being serious about her studies and having a quiet nature. Body shifted for postmortem, family informed Currently, Roshni’s body has been sent to the postmortem house located in Bhopal’s Masuri area for autopsy. Police have informed the family about the incident. Kohefiza police station is investigating the incident, and the cause of death will only be clear after the postmortem report arrives.
