A tiger entered a hut in Pipariya area of Narmadapuram district and dragged a young man into the forest. The youth’s body was found on Saturday morning. As soon as information was received, forest department officials rushed to the spot. The incident took place in the forest adjoining Jhiria (Dam Mohalla), which falls under the Dokri Kheda beat of the Bankhedi General Forest Range. The deceased has been identified as Kamal Thakur, a resident of Bari Devi village. He was the son of Shannulal. According to officials, the tiger entered the hut on Friday night, attacked the youth and dragged him into the forest. After receiving the information, forest staff reached the site and began panchnama proceedings Forest officials reach the spot Pipariya Forest SDO Ashish Khopragade said that as soon as he was informed about the incident, officers of the Bankhedi range were alerted. Bankhedi Range Officer Sumit Pandey confirmed that Kamal Thakur died in a tiger attack and that the body has been recovered. Pipariya Range Officer Durgesh Bisen, along with other forest personnel, also reached the spot. Villagers informed the forest department after spotting the body lying in bushes in the forest on Saturday morning. According to villagers, the tiger attacked Kamal during the night and dragged his body from the hut into the forest. Panchnama proceedings are currently underway.
