PM Narendra Modi, in his congratulatory post on X, said that this victory is set to inspire several young sportspersons. “Proud of our U-19 team for bringing home the World Cup. ICC Chairman Jay Shah also shared a note, thanking Zimbabwe and Namibia’s cricket associations for hosting the tournament so successfully. Shah wrote on X, “Well done to @ZimCricketv and @CricketNamibia1 for hosting a wonderful tournament that showcased the future stars of our game,” a part of his note on X, read. Former Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj also penned a note of praise for Mhatre and his U-19 World Cup-winning team. She also praised Suryavanshi for his breathtaking knock.
