A shocking revelation has emerged in the murder case of a BJP councillor’s wife in Mandsaur, with police confirming that the accused is the councillor’s own son, allegedly enraged over his father’s third marriage. Accused identified as councillor’s son According to the police, Sahil, son of BJP councillor Shahid Mew from Ward No. 15, allegedly murdered his stepmother Rubina. Investigators say Sahil harbored resentment after his father married Rubina around seven months ago, which led him to plot her killing. Murder on Thursday evening The incident occurred on Thursday around 5:30 pm in Abhinandan Nagar. Rubina was returning to her rented house from her maternal home in Madarpura by auto-rickshaw. As she neared her residence, two youths on an Apache motorcycle intercepted her. One of them repeatedly stabbed Rubina in the abdomen, chest, and head before fleeing the scene. Locals rushed to help, and Shahid Mew took her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Power outage foils CCTV recording Police said CCTV cameras near the crime scene failed to record the incident due to a power outage at the time. However, footage from surrounding areas was examined, and evidence gathered during the investigation pointed towards the step-son’s involvement. Child witness identifies the attackers A video obtained by Dainik Bhaskar shows Rubina’s minor daughter breaking down while stating that Sahil and his friend stabbed her mother. The child’s statement has become a crucial lead in the case. Auto driver’s account Auto driver Sitabai Dabi told police that Rubina boarded her auto from Shukla Chowk. Near her house, Rubina asked her to stop to seat her daughter. At that moment, two youths arrived on a bike and allegedly said, “You are not giving up,” before attacking her with a knife and fleeing. Complex family background Police revealed that Rubina’s marriage to Shahid Mew was her fourth. She had earlier marriages in Jawra, Delhi, and Bhilwara. From her third marriage, she had a six-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter. Shahid Mew has also been married three times. He has three children from his first wife, including Sahil. Two children were born from his second marriage. Rubina was his third wife. Police investigation ongoing Rubina’s brother Peeru Shah demanded the strictest punishment for those responsible. While the accused has not yet been arrested, police have questioned Shahid Mew and Bhuru Pehlwan, father of Sahil’s alleged accomplice Sohel.
