Tension has escalated in Mandsaur after cow remains were found for the second time within 13 days. On Thursday afternoon, around 3:30 pm, a severed head and leg of cattle were discovered near the Manju Shree Saree Centre in the Jivaganj area, close to Nayapura, triggering panic among local residents. Following the incident, workers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) along with local residents gathered in large numbers on Nayapura Road, outside the Maheshwari Dharamshala, and staged a sit-in protest. The protesters blocked the road, bringing traffic on Nayapura Road to a complete standstill. Administration on site, talks underway Nayapura Road is a key route leading to the Pashupatinath Temple, and the blockade caused significant inconvenience to devotees and commuters. Given the seriousness of the situation, senior administrative and police officials rushed to the spot. Additional Superintendent of Police Ter Singh Baghel is present at the site and is holding discussions with VHP leaders and protesters in an effort to defuse the situation and restore normalcy. It is noteworthy that earlier on January 23, tension had built up when cow remains were found in village Haidarwas of Mandsaur district. Haidarwas is located about 15 kilometers away from the current incident site Jiwaganj area. With such incidents occurring twice within 13 days in close proximity, both anger and concern have increased.
