A case of alleged cattle smuggling has come to light in Madhya Pradesh. Fourteen cattle being taken from Chhindwara to Maharashtra were caught early Tuesday morning near Multai. Hindu organisations and the police stopped the pickup vehicle after a long chase that lasted nearly 70 kilometres. According to sources, the incident happened around 4 am. Members of Shri Bajrang Sena and Rashtriya Hindu Sena had received information that cattle were being transported to slaughterhouses in Maharashtra. After this, the organisations alerted the police and began chasing the pickup from Chhindwara towards Multai. During the chase, sparks were seen coming out of the speeding vehicle. The pickup driver tried to escape and even broke through the Chikhlilakala toll plaza. Deepak Malviya, the state president of Rashtriya Hindu Sena, informed the police control room. Later, with the help of Multai police, a blockade was set up near Multai, where the cattle were finally caught, though the driver managed to flee.
