The stock market is experiencing volatility today, February 1st, ahead of the budget presentation. The Sensex is currently trading at 82,350, up over 50 points. The Nifty is also up 20 points, trading at 25,320. Hindustan Copper, Vedanta, Hind Zinc, and MCX are down 10-14%. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 16 are trading higher and 14 are trading lower. Sun Pharma, BEL, and Power Grid are down by up to 3%. Meanwhile, Infosys, Tata Steel, and Zomato are down by up to 2%. Earlier, the Sensex opened 50 points lower at 82,230. The Nifty also fell 30 points to 25,300. The metal sector saw the biggest decline of 3%. Among Nifty’s sectoral indices, the metals sector saw the biggest decline, falling by up to 3%. The public sector banks also saw a decline of up to 1%. FMCG, IT, media, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and realty sectors also saw declines.
