A young man in Gwalior allegedly murdered his girlfriend after her marriage was fixed elsewhere. Police say the accused was enraged after the girl stopped speaking to him once the wedding was finalised, and he could not accept the end of their two-and-a-half-year-long relationship. According to the police, around 1:45 pm on January 20, accused Sameer Kushwah went to his girlfriend’s house to meet her. The young woman asked him to leave, which further angered him. Sameer reportedly could not accept that the girl who once climbed walls to meet him was now unwilling to even talk to him. In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked Nisha Kushwah’s neck with a sickle lying nearby. As she writhed in pain, he angrily asked her, “If you wanted to leave me anyway, why were you pretending to love me?” Police said he remained there until Nisha stopped breathing. The accused was arrested on the night of January 22. During prolonged interrogation, Sameer allegedly narrated details of his relationship with Nisha and confessed to the entire sequence of events leading to the murder. By the time police reached the spot, Nisha had already died. Love that began as friendship two-and-a-half years ago Nisha Kushwah (21), a resident of Chhote Baba Ki Pahadi under the Girwai police station area of Gwalior, was neighbours with Sameer Kushwah. The two had known each other since childhood, and their friendship reportedly turned into a romantic relationship about two-and-a-half years ago. Police said the couple had even made promises to live and die together. Meanwhile, Nisha’s parents fixed her marriage elsewhere. Sameer was unemployed, which reportedly led to Nisha’s family opposing the relationship. Under parental pressure, Nisha agreed to the marriage, and the wedding date was fixed for April 20. As wedding preparations began, Nisha started distancing herself from Sameer. Police said he repeatedly tried to contact her, but she ignored him every time, which further fueled his anger. After the incident, a large number of local residents and relatives gathered at the spot. Tried to stop the marriage, threatened the fiancé Police investigation revealed that Sameer had made multiple attempts to stop Nisha’s marriage. He allegedly defamed her in the neighbourhood and called her fiancé to inform him about their past relationship. When the marriage was still not called off, Sameer reportedly threatened the fiancé, saying he would shoot him if he came with the wedding procession. On the day of incident, Sameer jumped over the boundary wall On January 20, Nisha was alone at home as her sister-in-law had gone to an anganwadi to get her son vaccinated. Taking advantage of the situation, Sameer allegedly climbed the boundary wall and entered the house. Police said he caught hold of Nisha’s hand and pleaded with her to marry him. However, she clearly refused, saying her marriage had already been fixed and asked him to leave. Enraged, Sameer allegedly attacked her neck twice with a sickle. When Nisha fell to the ground, bleeding and writhing in pain, he picked up a stone and struck her on the head. After confirming her death, he fled the spot on a motorcycle. The accused is believed to have entered the house by climbing the boundary wall. Fled after giving mobile to brother After the incident, police and forensic teams reached the spot and collected crucial evidence. Investigation also revealed that extreme brutality was used during the murder, and there was an attempt to damage the victim’s ear. Police began probing the case from the angle of a love affair. While tracking the accused, they found his mobile phone switched off. When police reached his house, the phone was recovered from his brother. During questioning, the brother told police that Sameer had handed over his mobile phone to him before leaving home. Following a search operation, police arrested Sameer on January 22. During interrogation, he confessed to the murder. CSP said – murder committed after refusal to talk CSP Manish Yadav said the accused admitted that he was angry due to his girlfriend’s indifference and because her marriage had been fixed elsewhere.
