A theft has been reported at the ancient Ashapuri Maa Bhavani Temple in Ujjain, where miscreants stole more than 4 kg of silver jewellery, valued at around ₹16 lakh. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. The incident took place at around 3:15 am on Tuesday night in the Ghattiya area. The temple is located in Nazarpur. CCTV shows intruder entering through window CCTV visuals show one intruder entering the temple through a window, while another person remained outside. After entering the temple, the intruder is seen bowing before the goddess. He then used a bucket to remove the silver canopy and collected other silver ornaments before leaving the premises. However, temple authorities have stated that there were not two but three thieves involved in the crime. According to them, the thieves stole around 4 kg of silver ornaments, including the goddess’s silver canopy, nose ring and necklace. See pictures… Entered inner shrine wearing shoes CCTV footage shows a thief wearing shoes climbing onto the goddess’s platform inside the inner shrine to carry out the theft, while two other accomplices are seen standing near the window. After the incident came to light, a team from Ghattiya Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation. Ghattiya Police Station in-charge Karan Khowal said that, given the seriousness of the case, the cyber cell and dog squad have been called in.
