A software engineer from Indore, visiting Pachmarhi as a tourist, suffered serious consequences after complaining about poor service at an adventure tour company in the Pachmarhi hill station of Narmadapuram district. During the dispute, the owner of the adventure company allegedly attacked the tourist on the head with a heavy object, causing him to bleed profusely. The incident took place at around 10 pm on Sunday night near the New Hotel premises, Beta Bawarchi area. People present at the scene intervened and separated the two parties. Injured engineer taken to private clinic The injured engineer was taken to a private doctor in Pachmarhi with the help of his companions and local residents. After receiving primary treatment, he reached the Pachmarhi police station along with his companions at around 11.30 pm. Both parties accused each other at police station Some time after the incident, Rajat Pratap Singh, operator of Arambh Adventure Company, also arrived at the police station. He alleged that all three tourists had verbally abused and assaulted him. Police conducted medical examinations of the injured persons from both sides. Pachmarhi police station in-charge Padam Singh Maurya said the dispute arose over a complaint regarding poor service and arrangements to take the tourists back to Indore by bus. He added that both parties were from Indore. The station in-charge said the matter was resolved through mutual consent and compromise, following which both parties left the police station. As a result, no FIR was registered. Tourist’s allegation – Left behind at night Indore-based software engineer Alok Gupta said he had travelled to Pachmarhi with his companions, Javed Khan and Simarjot Singh, under a package offered by Arambh Adventure Company. The package included transport to and from Indore, accommodation and meals. According to Gupta, they received poor service after reaching Pachmarhi. He alleged that during dinner there was a scramble for rotis, and when they raised a complaint, company staff used abusive language and refused to take them back to Indore by bus. He further claimed that during the altercation, one of their companions was attacked and all three were left behind when the bus departed late at night. Tourist operator denies allegations Arambh Adventure Company operator Rajat Pratap Singh denied the allegations. He stated that the three tourists began using abusive language during dinner over a delay in service. He said there were female tourists on the bus and there was a possibility that the situation could worsen. Singh said that due to security concerns, the three tourists were denied transport by bus after being given a refund. He further alleged that the tourists later assaulted him, in which he also sustained injuries and underwent a medical examination.
