Ben Duckett then had a fifty partnership with Joe Root but got out after scoring 39 runs. Jacob Bethell could only make 6 runs. Root then scored fifty and along with captain Harry Brook took the team to 178. Root got out after scoring 75 runs. Brook got out after scoring 42 runs. The team lost 4 wickets at 189. Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler then scored 33 runs and with Will Jacks guided the team to victory. For Sri Lanka, Dhananjaya de Silva and Jeffrey Vandersay took 2 wickets each. England levelled the series 1-1 by winning the second ODI. Sri Lanka had won the first match by 19 runs. Now the third and decisive match of the series will be played in Colombo on January 27. The T20 series will be held from January 30 to February 3.
