During duty at Shahdol Police Line, a constable shot himself and died on the spot. The incident occurred at the protected center around 1:25 AM on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The constable has been identified as Shishir Singh Rajput (29). He fired near his neck with his service rifle. It is said that just before the incident, the constable was talking to someone on his mobile phone. During this, he threw his mobile phone on the ground. After that, he fired at himself with the rifle. A broken mobile phone and the service rifle were found at the scene. Police personnel arrived after hearing the sound Resident of Jabalpur
Shishir Singh (son of late Sharad Singh) was originally a resident of Jabalpur. He received a compassionate appointment as a child constable in the year 2013. After completing 18 years of age in 2015, he was appointed to the post of regular constable. Currently, he is posted at Shahdol Police Line. His family includes his mother and three sisters. The family members have been informed. After the post-mortem procedure, the body will be handed over to the family. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
