The government of India has directed Indigo to sack senior Vice President (VP), Jason Herter, in the ongoing case against the airline over recent flight cancellation chaos issue, reported legal news platform, Bar and Bench. ₹22 crore penalty imposed Additional Solicitor General (a senior Indian law officer), Chetan Sharma, appeared for the government in the Delhi High Court and said that the senior Vice President of Indigo has been told to be dismissed from service and a penalty of nearly ₹22 has been imposed.

Sharma stated that some senior officials of the budget airline have also been warned. According to the law news portal, the Court was also informed that a website was created where people could file for compensation for cancelled flight tickets, among other things. In early December, IndiGo had faced massive operational disruptions, and subsequently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had flung into action. In the third quarter of the current financial year, InterGlobe Aviation, the parent of IndiGo, recorded a total income of ₹24,540.6 crore, higher than ₹22,992.8 crore posted in the year-ago period.
