Shivraj Singh Chouhan becomes grandfather:Son Kartikey blessed with baby girl; Sadhna overjoyed on seeing granddaughter, calls newborn ‘Ladli Lakshmi’

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has become a grandfather.
Chouhan’s elder son Kartikey and daughter-in-law Amanat were blessed with a baby girl on Wednesday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Shivraj shares happy news on social media Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared a video related to the birth of his granddaughter on social media. In his post, he wrote that a “Ladli Lakshmi” has arrived in their home. He announced that Kartikey has become a father, Amanat a mother, his wife Sadhna is now a grandmother, and he himself a grandfather. He also mentioned other family members, expressing joy over the new addition. He added that after welcoming two daughters-in-law in 2025, the family has now been blessed with baby Ila in 2026, calling it an auspicious moment. Sadhna overjoyed on seeing granddaughter In the video, hospital staff are seen bringing the newborn out of the operating theatre. Sadhna Chouhan gestures for them to come closer as Kartikeya lovingly holds his daughter in his arms. Seeing her granddaughter, Sadhna becomes visibly emotional and joyful, exclaiming that a “Ladli Lakshmi” has arrived in the family. Baby named Ila Hospital staff asked Kartikey to announce who had arrived. He replied that baby “Ila” had come. Sadhna repeated the name with happiness and later hugged her co-mother-in-law, Ruchita. Gayatri Mantra chanted at hospital During the moments after the birth, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was seen chanting the Gayatri Mantra. Kartikeya also softly recited mantras while holding his daughter. Shivraj later whispered the Gayatri Mantra to his granddaughter when he held her for the first time. Kartikey married in March 2025 Kartikey married Amanat, daughter of Liberty Shoes director Anupam Bansal, on 6 March 2025. The wedding took place at the Ummed Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
