Australia has announced a 17-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Pakistan. The series will be played in Lahore from January 29 to February 1. This tour is considered an important part of the preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (India and Sri Lanka). Mitchell Marsh will captain the Australian team in this series. Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David have not been included in the squad due to injuries, so that they can be fully fit before the T20 World Cup. He plays for Sydney Sixers in the BBL. He is the highest wicket-taker for the Sixers with 15 wickets. Selection Committee’s Statement
Selection Committee Chairman George Bailey said that this series is a great opportunity for players who are close to making it into the national team. He added that the tour of Pakistan will provide players with valuable international experience, which will be helpful in their World Cup preparations.
