yadav-slams-cm-mamata-over-her-stance-against-ed-action:‘chief-ministers-must-cooperate-with-constitutional-institutions,’-says-mp-cm

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav strongly criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her conduct during an Enforcement Directorate (ED) action, saying such behaviour was inappropriate for a constitutional authority on Friday. Speaking to the media after attending the Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar National Award Ceremony and National Seminar, Yadav said it is expected that Chief Ministers cooperate with central agencies like the ED. “We all take an oath to cooperate with constitutional institutions. In such a situation, if a Chief Minister herself indulges in such a trivial act, it is not appropriate. This kind of conduct is not acceptable from a state’s Chief Minister,” he said, referring to the alleged removal of documents during the ED action. Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar’s national award ceremony Earlier, addressing the Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar National Award Ceremony and seminar, Yadav highlighted the multifaceted contributions of renowned archaeologist Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar. He said Wakankar made outstanding contributions to music, sculpture, painting and archaeology. The Chief Minister noted that Wakankar’s work in studying forests and human history remains memorable and continues to inspire scholars. Ancient civilisation unearthed through excavations CM Yadav said Wakankar played a historic role in archaeological excavations across Madhya Pradesh. Through river excavations at Maheshwar, Mandsaur, Navda Toli, Runija and Azad Nagar, Wakankar helped bring to light the state’s ancient civilisation and cultural heritage. He added that Wakankar’s greatest achievement was making archaeology a subject of public interest, calling his vision farsighted and exemplary. Yashodhar Mathpal conferred Dr. VS Wakankar national award ceremony At the event, senior scholar Dr Yashodhar Mathpal was awarded the Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar National Award Ceremony by the Madhya Pradesh government. He received a cash award of Rs 2 lakh along with a citation. A book featuring a rare collection of photographs from India’s 20th-century freedom movement was also released on the occasion. Mahakal festival from January 14 The Chief Minister announced that the Shri Mahakal Festival will be held in Ujjain from January 14. He said the festival would celebrate faith, culture and spirituality, attracting devotees and art lovers from across the country. Padma Shri anecdote and Cultural resurgence Recalling an anecdote, Yadav said Wakankar accepted the Padma Shri during the Emergency while wearing an RSS cap, a gesture he described as a symbol of ideological courage. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dr Yadav said India has witnessed stability, decisive action against terrorism, and a revival of cultural pride, citing the reconstruction of the Somnath temple as an example of cultural resurgence.
