The three-day International Camel Festival will commence with a grand Heritage Walk starting at 8 am on Friday. Organised jointly by the district administration and the Tourism Department, the festival will be held from January 9 to 11 and will showcase Bikaner’s rich cultural, culinary and desert heritage. Opening day to begin with heritage walk The festival will kick off with a Heritage Walk from Laxminath Temple to Rampuria Haveli between 8 am and 10 am. The walk will feature performances by folk artists, traditional musical instruments, folk songs and dances. Decorated camels and traditionally dressed performers will accompany the procession. Live demonstrations of preparing Bikaneri delicacies such as bhujia, ghewar and jalebi will also be held, along with performances of the city’s historic rammat folk theatre. Preparations for the festival have been completed. Events on January 9 Highlights on January 10 Bird festival at Jorbeed With the support of the Forest Department, a Bird Festival will be organised on January 10 from 8 am to 5 pm at Love-Kush Vatika, Jorbeed, and the nearby Vulture Conservation Area. Currently, five species of vultures and more than ten species of birds of prey—including eagles, hawks, shikras and falcons—have been spotted in the area. Thousands of migratory birds arrive at Jorbeed during December and January. Visitors may also spot desert foxes, chinkaras and various reptile species. Paramotoring in Sadul club ground and Raisar Paramotoring will be organised on January 10 at Sadul Club Ground in collaboration with a private company. On January 11, paramotoring will take place at Raisar. Grand finale at Raisar on January 11 The festival will conclude with a spectacular fire dance performance by members of the Jasnathi sect, marking a vibrant end to the International Camel Festival 2026.
