In a repeat attack on Sunday night, miscreants targeted the house of a female tent business owner in Chungi Chowki, throwing grenades and stones. A girl, Jasmine, sustained serious injuries when a bomb exploded near her face and is undergoing treatment at Jabalpur District Hospital. The Ghamapur police reached the scene after being informed, but the attackers had fled. Locals said the assailants were the same who had set fire to the house a few months ago. The family alleged that the miscreants, led by Jitu Thakur and Yash Thakur, along with 20–25 associates, are attempting to take over their house and an adjacent plot, using intimidation and repeated attacks to force them to leave. Tent business owner Poonam Thadani said earlier incidents included stone pelting, arson, damage to vehicles, and threats after she protested against the harassment of school and college girls in the area. Police have registered a case and are searching for the accused. The attack has created fear among residents of Chungi Chowki. To protect themselves, the women in the house poured cold water on the attackers, which helped prevent further injuries. She added that on November 12, 2025, Yash Thakur and his companions harassed school and college girls in the area. Poonam had opposed this, which she believes led to the attacks as revenge. Earlier incidents also include damaging a car, setting fire to an auto, and threatening the family in front of the police if complaints were not withdrawn.
