bus-stopped-on-nh-44,-driver-dragged-out-and-beaten:police-fail-to-arrive-on-time-despite-information;-fourth-incident-in-morena-in-15-days

In Morena, on National Highway 44, miscreants stopped a passenger bus late Saturday night near Gangapur Hanuman Temple. They pulled the driver out and brutally beat him, breaking both his legs with baseball bats, despite pleas from female passengers. The bus, a Jai Bharat Travels vehicle (UP80 FT 6416), was carrying passengers to Khatu Shyam when the attackers overtook it and blocked its path before assaulting the driver. Police inaction blamed Bus owner Dinesh Sikarwar stated that he called the police as soon as he received the information, but the police did not reach the spot and the accused fled. This is the fourth time since December 19 that a bus has been stopped and assaulted in this manner. The police register cases under general sections and complete formalities. Several times, the miscreants also loot cash. 8 miscreants from Janakpur carried out the incident
Habitual criminals from Janakpur village, Bhanu Gurjar, Shyam Veer Gurjar, Shriram Gurjar, Manto Gurjar, Guru Dayal Gurjar, and their three other associates, overtook and stopped the bus. They forcibly pulled down 42-year-old driver Vijay Parmar and brutally beat him. The miscreants threatened, saying, ‘Call anyone you want, the bus won’t move.’ A passenger secretly recorded a video of this incident. During the assault, screams erupted in the bus. A female passenger was saying, ‘What is the driver’s fault? If you beat the driver, where will we go, who will drive the bus?’ But the intoxicated miscreants paid no heed to her and kept raining blows on the driver with sticks. When the police did not arrive, bus operator Dinesh Sikarwar sent some of his men to the spot. The bus was parked at the Civil Line police station at 2 AM. After this, the passengers were sent off by another bus. Bus owner Dinesh Sikarwar said, I have been running a bus legally for the last 20 years. Tax and permit are deposited till March 2026. I am being punished for my honesty. Illegal bus operators, who have neither permit nor papers, are running vehicles rampantly and are getting us attacked. The police only register a case of assault, not a report of robbery. This is why the morale of the miscreants is high. TI did not answer phone
After the incident, Civil Line TI Udaybhan Yadav did not answer the phone. Meanwhile, when CSP Deepali Chanderia was contacted, she said, The incident happened at night, but the TI has not informed me. I will be able to clarify something only after asking. This statement exposes the communication gap and negligence of the police.
