A shocking incident unfolded in Indore’s Lasudiya police station area where a man allegedly murdered his wife with a knife over suspicion of infidelity. When their 14-year-old daughter attempted to intervene and save her mother, the accused also attacked her with the knife. After committing the crime, the accused himself reached Lasudiya police station and informed the police, saying, “I have murdered my wife.” Upon receiving information, police team rushed to the spot and sent the woman’s body to MY Hospital for postmortem examination. The injured daughter was admitted to Bombay Hospital for treatment, where her condition is reported to be stable. Dispute over character suspicion Additional Police Commissioner Amit Singh stated that the incident occurred on Saturday morning near a slum settlement in Scheme No. 78. The accused, Sanjay Chauhan, had been involved in a long-standing dispute with his wife, Suman Chauhan (36), due to suspicion of infidelity. On Saturday morning, the argument escalated, following which Sanjay attacked his wife with a knife, killing her on the spot. During the attack, when the couple’s 14-year-old daughter tried to protect her mother, the accused assaulted her as well. Long history of domestic disputes According to police officials, the couple had a history of frequent quarrels. Complaints had earlier been registered against the accused, and he had been taken into custody under Section 151 and sent to jail. However, even after his release, disputes between the couple continued. Accused had second marriage Additional DCP Amarendra Singh said the accused has been arrested and is being interrogated. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused’s first wife had passed away and this was also Suman’s second marriage. Persistent mistrust reportedly led to regular tension between the two. The accused works as a labourer.
