Speeding truck runs over father, son on NH-30 in Maihar:Were on way to hospital after daughter’s delivery; driver flees leaving vehicle

A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Nadan Dehat police station area of Maihar district, where a speeding truck hit a motorcycle on National Highway-30 near Tilaura village. The impact was so severe that both riders, a father and his son, died on the spot. The incident caused panic among passersby, who were shocked by the scene at the accident site. Victims identified The deceased have been identified as Bhimsen Kushwaha (26) and his father Ramklesh Kushwaha (45), residents of Amarpatan. They were travelling on a motorcycle bearing registration number MP 19 ZK 5738. Police said both were on their way to Maihar Civil Hospital at the time of the accident. See pictures after the accident.. Heading to hospital after family tragedy According to family members, Ramklesh’s daughter had delivered a baby at around 5 am on Thursday at Maihar Civil Hospital. The newborn was stillborn. After receiving the news, Ramklesh and his son Bhimsen left for the hospital to meet her. Bhimsen was the eldest among three brothers and one sister. Truck driver flees, vehicle seized After hitting the motorcycle, the truck driver fled the spot, leaving the vehicle behind. The damaged motorcycle was found stuck under the truck. Nadan Dehat police reached the site soon after receiving information, seized the truck, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver.
