The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the richest cricket board in the world, remains in a financially strong position despite the exit of Dream11 and a reduction in revenue from the ICC (International Cricket Council), according to Cricbuzz. Dream11 was the lead sponsor for Team India for two years, with the deal starting in 2023. The Indian cricket board had suspended its partnership with Dream11 after the Online Gaming Bill was introduced earlier this year. The BCCI said that it made up for all the deficit from Dream11’s exit and also a dip in revenue from the ICC by securing deals with Apollo and Adidas, which is India’s kit sponsor. “Notwithstanding the withdrawal of sponsors such as Dream11 and other entities affected by recent legislative changes, BCCI had successfully secured a new jersey sponsorship at a higher valuation for another two-and-a-half-year cycle,” a note with the Apex Council of the BCCI, read as per Cricbuzz. The BCCI’s projected income for the 2025-26 financial year is ₹ 8,963 crore, according to Cricbuzz. The Indian board receives 38.5% of ICC’s earnings. The quantum of the decrease in BCCI’s revenue from the ICC is not known, though, but the board has been able to make up for the deficit with a separate deal with Adidas and later, with Apollo tyres, which replaced Dream11 as Team India’s principal sponsor. According to the note mentioned above, the BCCI has secured a new jersey sponsorship deal at a higher valuation for the next 2.5 years. Dream11 deal suspended after Online Gaming Bill BCCI and Dream11 had parted ways in August 2025 after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, was passed. The Online Gaming Bill imposed a ban on Real-Money Gaming (RMG), thereby putting an end to cash games and contests on fantasy sports platforms. After the bill was passed, the revenue of platforms like Dream11 and My11circle took a massive hit. It was inevitable that their partnership with the BCCI would come to an end. The Indian cricket board, in 2023, had announced Dream11 as the lead sponsor for Team India.
