Former state minister Hemraj Verma had a sudden fall while running at the MP Sports Festival held at Gandhi Maidan on Thursday. The incident, captured on video, is now widely circulating on social media. The festival was inaugurated by Union Minister Jitin Prasad, who led the run along with local leaders. Hemraj Verma was among the participants, running alongside other officials. During the race, he lost his balance and fell face-first after reportedly being pushed from behind. A drone video shows that Gurbhag Singh, husband of District Panchayat President Dr. Daljit Kaur, inadvertently came into Hemraj Verma’s lane. A shoulder collision caused the former minister to stumble and fall. A person from behind immediately helped him get up. After the video went viral, Hemraj Verma posted on Facebook, stating that he was unhurt. “By God’s blessings and your prayers, I have not suffered any serious injury. I am completely fine,” he wrote. He added that he has faced political ups and downs before and would continue to persevere. His son, Atul Verma, also commented on social media, saying, “In trying to bring others down, fallen people end up erasing their own existence.” See 2 pictures… Political background Hemraj Verma, a former MLA and Minister of State in the Samajwadi Party government, was first elected in 2012 and held the Food and Civil Supplies portfolio due to his closeness to Akhilesh Yadav.
