A minor girl climbed a 50-metre-high mobile tower in Dewas, insisting on marrying her lover. The incident occurred on Sunday in Dhasad village, Satwas tehsil, and a video of the episode surfaced on Monday. Seeing the girl scale the tower, villagers panicked and immediately informed the police by calling Dial 112. Soon, a crowd gathered at the site, and several villagers tried to persuade her to come down. According to villagers, the girl wanted to marry the boy of her choice, but her family was opposed. She was reportedly distressed over this disagreement. The girl stated she would not descend until her demand to marry her lover was fulfilled. It is said that the boy and girl belong to the same gotra (clan), which was the reason her family opposed the relationship. A dispute was ongoing at her home regarding the matter. Lover called at site On the initiative of the villagers, the girl’s lover was called to the spot. He, along with his family members, engaged in a long conversation with the girl, attempting to calm her down and persuade her to descend safely. After prolonged discussions and persuasion by her lover and his family, the girl’s anger and stress were reduced. She safely climbed down from the tower just five minutes before the police arrived at the scene. Satwas TI Manoj Kumar Singh confirmed that the girl came down safely before police reached the location. He stated that the incident was a case of a love affair, and no further complications were reported.
