Elon Musk’s wealth has crossed $750 billion (₹67.18 lakh crore). He is the first person in the world to reach this level of net worth. Earlier, on December 16, Musk’s wealth had touched $600 billion (₹54 lakh crore). The sharp rise came after a decision by the Delaware Supreme Court, which increased Musk’s Tesla pay package from $56 billion to $139 billion. According to the Forbes Billionaires Index, his current net worth stands at $649 billion. This amount is equal to the combined wealth of India’s top 40 richest people. Musk’s wealth is also higher than the total wealth of the tech billionaires ranked just below him—Larry Page ($252.6 billion), Larry Ellison ($242.7 billion), and Jeff Bezos ($239.4 billion). Three key reasons behind Elon Musk’s wealth surge 1. Tesla’s $56 Billion Pay Package Restored: In 2018, Tesla approved a $56 billion stock option pay package for Elon Musk. A lower court canceled it in 2024, but in December 2025, the Delaware Supreme Court restored the deal. Over time, the value of this package rose to $139 billion. This decision caused a sharp rise in Musk’s wealth, taking it past $700 billion for the first time. 2. SpaceX Valuation Touches $800 Billion: According to a Reuters report, SpaceX was valued at $800 billion during an internal share sale. Musk owns about 42% of the company. If SpaceX is listed on the US stock market at this valuation, the value of Musk’s stake could rise by more than $336 billion. 3. Rise in Tesla Shares and New Pay Package: Tesla’s rising share price and shareholder approval of Musk’s new $1 trillion pay package in November 2025 also added to his wealth. In 2025 alone, his net worth increased by over $340 billion. Musk owns around 12% of Tesla, so any increase in the company’s share price directly boosts his wealth. Musk created video game at the age of 12 Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. He started learning computer programming at the age of 10. When he was 12, he created a video game called Blaster and sold it to a local magazine for 500 US dollars. This is considered his first business achievement. In 1995, Musk founded a web software company called Zip2. In 1999, the company was bought by Compaq for 307 million dollars. Musk received 22 million dollars from the deal for his 7 percent share. This marked the real beginning of his business journey. eBay acquired PayPal in 2002 Musk founded PayPal in 1999. In 2002, eBay bought the company for $1.5 billion, and Musk earned $180 million from the deal. Soon after, he started SpaceX.
