The victim, Harish Nirmal, a resident of Shankarpur, had been admitted to the centre by his family for treatment related to drug addiction. Family informed late at night On the intervening night of December 12–13, staff members of the centre called Harish’s family and claimed that his condition had suddenly worsened. They said he had been shifted to a hospital for treatment. However, when the family reached the hospital, Harish was already dead. His body was handed over to the family the next morning for the last rites. While preparing for the funeral, family members noticed visible injury marks on the body and immediately informed the police.
