In Betul, a 17-year-old minor was brutally assaulted with rods, shovels, stones and sticks, and died late Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Before his death, the minor stated to the police, describing the entire incident. The incident occurred in the Ganj area. The victim, Vivek Markam (17) of Kala Patha, was worshipping at Sagoun Baba Darbar when Aniket alias Annu Thakur, along with 10–15 associates, arrived, forcibly took him to Chunnidhana, and severely beat him. Multiple injuries to body, died in ICU During the assault, Vivek was seriously injured and fell unconscious on the spot. Nearby people informed the police. The injured was admitted to the district hospital late in the evening. Doctors said, He had several deep wounds on his body. Oxygen and sugar levels were rapidly falling. Despite being admitted to the ICU, he succumbed to his injuries late at night. Vivek’s mother is a teacher, and his father works in the forest department. Vivek accused of murder Police investigation revealed that there was an old dispute between Vivek and Annu Thakur. Vivek was an accused in the murder case of a minor that occurred some time ago in the Bhaggu Dhana area. Vivek was also accused of attacking Annu Thakur. It is believed that the incident was carried out due to this rivalry. Main accused Annu Thakur is an NSA accused According to the police, main accused Annu Thakur has been an accused in an NSA (National Security Act) case and is currently out on bail from the High Court. In this case, a murder case has been registered against Annu Thakur, Kripal, Rohit, and 4-5 other individuals. Police arrested two SP Virendra Jain said that on Wednesday evening, Dial-100 received information that some people were beating a young man. Reaching the spot, the police took the injured person to the hospital, but doctors could not save him.
