Rewa police seized a large consignment of illegal explosives in Dabhaura on Monday night. A man and a woman, relatives, were arrested while bringing the materials from Uttar Pradesh by train. Police recovered 400 detonators, cables, and other explosive items from the two bags they were carrying. SP Shailendra Singh Chauhan had received a tip-off about the smuggling. Acting on it, Dabhaura police station in-charge Rishabh Singh Baghel set up a trap. When the accused got off the Janta Express and reached the market area, police cordoned off the spot and caught them. Brought the consignment from Manikpur, were preparing to sell it The arrested accused have been identified as Vinod Manjhi (resident of Sohagi) and Pooja Manjhi (resident of Chhadeni, Jawa). According to the police, both had brought this consignment from Manikpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is suspected that they were going to use this explosive for illegal mining or other unlawful activities. Station In-charge said – Case registered, investigation started Dabhaura Station in-charge Rishabh Singh Baghel stated that it has come to light in the initial investigation that the accused had brought this explosive material to sell illegally in the area. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and action is being taken.
