The Jabalpur High Court has taken a strict stance on a petition filed against the Sagara police station in-charge of Rewa district. The court has sought responses from the Director General of Police (DGP), IG Rewa Zone, and SP. The case involves abuse of power and forcibly closing the complainant’s CM Helpline complaint. The court has also demanded CCTV footage from the police station, which has created a stir in the police department. The case is from Majhiyari village in Sirmour tehsil. Rajesh Shukla, a resident here, has an ongoing land dispute with his uncle. The Commissioner Court had ordered to maintain the status quo on the land. Rajesh alleges that he had sown paddy in the field, but his uncle harvested the crop with the help of the Sagara police. Despite the court’s stay order, the police took one-sided action against Rajesh. When complaint was not withdrawn, entire family was picked up Troubled by police harassment, Rajesh filed a complaint on the CM helpline. It is alleged that after this, the police pressured him to withdraw the complaint. When they did not agree, the police forcibly took Rajesh, his wife and son from their house to the police station. Their mobile phones were snatched there, and the police themselves closed the CM helpline complaint. Court demands recordings of two dates The victim’s family filed a petition in the High Court demanding an FIR and suspension against the guilty policemen. While hearing the case, the High Court not only sought clarification from the officials but also demanded CCTV footage of Sagara police station from October 24 to 26, 2025 and November 13 to 15, 2025.
