The clash carries high importance as both teams have started the tournament with convincing wins and are aiming to finish at the top of the group standings. Pakistan hold the upper hand in recent junior-level encounters. They have won all three previous Under-19 matches against India, including the most recent Under-23 clash in the Emerging Asia Cup. India made a powerful start by defeating UAE in their opening Group A match. Batting first on Friday, India posted a massive 433 for 6, the highest total in Youth ODI history. Fourteen-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the star of the innings, scoring a brilliant 171 runs that included 14 sixes. He was well supported by Aaron George and Vihan Malhotra, who scored 69 runs each. India then dominated with the ball and bowled out the UAE for just 199 runs, sealing a huge 234-run victory. Pakistan’s dominant start against Malaysia Pakistan also began their campaign in style with a one-sided win over Malaysia. Batting first, Pakistan scored 345 runs, with Sameer Minhas making 177 and Ahmad Hussain scoring 132. Pakistan’s bowlers then took complete control, bowling Malaysia out for only 48 runs. Ali Raza and Mohammad Sayyam picked up three wickets each, underlining Pakistan’s all-round strength ahead of the India clash.
