The last rites of the four Morena police personnel who lost their lives in a road accident in Sagar district were performed on Thursday in their respective native villages. Emotional scenes unfolded as families received the remains early in the morning, with children performing the final rites amid heart-wrenching moments. Bodies reach native villages; heartbreaking scenes during farewell The mortal remains of the four policemen reached their native villages on Thursday morning. Constable Vinod Sharma was cremated by his 13-year-old son, while Constable Anil Kaurav’s funeral was to be performed by his 8-year-old son. At Ambah, the daughter of Constable Parimal Singh Tomar fainted as soon as she saw her father’s body. His sister also collapsed, and relatives struggled to console the family. At Foup village in Bhind, Constable Pradyumn Dixit was accorded a Guard of Honour before cremation. Bodies reached Morena at 2 AM; financial assistance announced All four bodies arrived at the Morena police lines at around 2 AM. A wreath-laying ceremony was held where DIG Sunil Kumar Jain handed over cheques of Rs 1 lakh each to the families. He said that an additional Rs 4 lakh would be provided later, as the government grants a total of Rs 5 lakh for last rites. DIG Jain also clarified that the deceased personnel would not be accorded martyr status, as their death occurred in a road accident. Four policemen died on the spot. The seriously injured constable, Rajeev Chauhan, was airlifted from Sagar to Delhi for advanced treatment.
