Ticket sales have begun for next year’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka. The ICC opened the ticket window from 6:45 PM Indian time. The 20-team ICC tournament will begin on 7 February and will be played until 8 March. Starting price ₹100 in India The ICC announced on Thursday that the starting price for tickets at venues in India in Phase-1 is 100 rupees. Meanwhile, the starting price at venues in Sri Lanka is 1000 Sri Lankan Rupees (290 rupees). However, the starting price for Team India’s match tickets in India is ₹500. And the starting price for India-Pakistan match tickets in Colombo is ₹450. Dates for Phase-2 ticket sales will be announced soon. Spectators can purchase tickets from the World Cup’s official website. Currently, only tickets for the group stage matches have gone on sale. Tickets for the Super-8 stage and knockout rounds will go on sale during the tournament. 55 matches will be played between 20 teams In the T20 World Cup, 55 matches will be played between 20 teams over 29 days. In the group stage, 3 matches will be played every day. The match start times will be 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM. In the Super-8 stage, only 2 matches will be played every day. Whereas in the knockout stage, only one match will be played per day, with its timing at 7 PM. The tournament format will remain the same as the previous World Cup, in which 5-5 teams will be divided into 4 groups. From each group, the top 2 teams will qualify for the Super-8. Here, teams will be divided into 2 groups of 4-4. Here too, the top 2 teams from both groups will get entry into the semifinals. The final will be played on March 8 between the two teams winning the semifinals. 4 matches in Group Stage, 3 in Super-8 In the group stage, each team will play 4-4 matches against each other in their group. Entry into the Super-8 will only be granted by winning more matches and staying in the top-2 of the points table. In the Super-8 round too, each team will play 3-3 matches against each other in their group. This means the two teams reaching the final will have played 8-8 matches. India-Pakistan to clash on February 15 ICC had released the schedule for the ICC tournament on November 25. The opening match will be played between the Netherlands and Pakistan on February 7 in Colombo. On the same day, India will play its first match against America at 7 PM.
