Uttar Pradesh MP Chandrashekhar Azad faces renewed scrutiny after his ex-girlfriend, Dr Rohini Ghavri, revealed details of his party’s bank account. The statement shows that about ₹2.5 crore was deposited in the party’s account in April alone. Speaking to Bhaskar, Rohini said many people donate to the party, often in cash. “But how many people from our society have Chandrashekhar Azad and his party actually helped with this money? What steps have been taken to improve education, health, and economic conditions?” she questioned. She highlighted that even small donations of ₹20, ₹30, or ₹40 from poor and backward people reflect their trust in the party. “Chandrashekhar Azad, as party chief, should publicly explain how these funds are being used so that donors know where their money is going,” she added. Rohini also shared a page of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) account, held in Gurugram. The party’s registered address is listed as C Block, Gokulpur, Delhi Cantonment. Party account shows ₹2.49 crore balance, ₹12 lakh received in April A page shared by Dr Rohini Ghavri on social media shows that the Azad Samaj Party’s account had a bank balance of ₹2.49 crore at the beginning of April. From this, ₹22 lakh was withdrawn through RTGS on April 4 and 5, while ₹10 lakh was deposited on April 4 itself. Between April 2 and 5, multiple small transfers ranging from ₹19, ₹20, ₹500 to ₹900 were made to the party account via RTGS, UPI, and IMPS. These deposits came from different individuals. Questions raised over Type 8 bungalow allotted to Chandrashekhar Azad Dr. Rohini, the ex-girlfriend of MP Chandrashekhar Azad, has questioned the allotment of a Type 8 bungalow to him. She said that Chandrashekhar, who became an MP for the first time as an independent candidate, has been given this luxury bungalow, suggesting that the BJP is favouring him. She also claimed he is acting under the directions of Home Minister Amit Shah. According to Dr. Rohini, the bungalow was allotted on December 20 last year by Dheeraj Kumar, Joint Secretary of the Lok Sabha Secretariat. She urged Chandrashekhar to clarify how the bungalow has been used over the past year, who stays there, and how many people from the party or society have benefited from it. She added that party and society members should ask whether the bungalow has turned into a symbol of luxury. Writing on social media on Thursday, Dr. Rohini said: “Those who enjoy the comforts of power while being in opposition are called brokers. Those who truly fight against power face jail, ED raids, and struggle, not Type 8 bungalows, crores in funding, and Y+ security.” Rohini skips rally after giving challenge to Chandrashekhar Azad About 15 days ago, Dr. Rohini Ghavri had challenged MP Chandrashekhar Azad to a rally in Muzaffarnagar. She had announced on X a day before the event: “Now I am also joining the rally. We will see what happens. Chandrashekhar himself will provide me security, because if I get even a scratch, he will go to jail.” Her announcement had raised expectations of a possible commotion at the rally, and the police administration was put on alert to ensure her security. However, Rohini did not turn up at the rally. Dr. Rohini Ghavri and MP Chandrashekhar Azad have been involved in an ongoing dispute. Rohini has levelled several serious allegations against him, including sexual exploitation under false promises of marriage, hiding his marital status, sabotaging her career through fraud cases, and encouraging her to consider suicide.
